Shepherds of Hertford Estate Agent

Hertford's first class sales & lettings service

Good Morning

Well, what can we say?
It seems a little strange to be talking all about us, when really and truly, our business is all about you: your home, your move and your experience. But to give you some background: Shepherd’s first opened in Hertford on February 14th 1976 – Valentine’s Day. At the time, the average sale price in Hertford was about £14,000; a pint of beer was 32p; and everything we did was hand written or typed …and when the existence of private landlords was still a rarity.

While today’s house prices are unrecognisable and technology has transformed the way property is marketed – let’s not even discuss the cost of a pint! – the fundamental principles of exceptional customer service and doing right by everyone remain as strong today as the day we opened. Possibly why we’ve been here so long. Shepherds has been a thoroughly modern and thoroughly local estate agent for every day of its considerable lifetime. We’ve consistently sought out new technologies and always remained open to change, with a team of people who live in – and love – the neighbourhood.

Most of all, Shepherds is built on a simple and timeless formula: helpful local people, helping local people move.

Make the most of your weekend with Shepherds of Hertford

The weekend is when most people are off work and available to look at property, and when Hertford’s town centre is busiest. So it’s essential to open on Saturday and Sunday to seize and capitalise on potential opportunities. Weekends are perfect for Open Days and to arrange multiple viewings in straight succession to generate maximum enthusiasm and commitment from buyers. Sundays provide an extra opportunity to keep up momentum from any Saturday activity, instead of waiting till Monday.

Shepherds Estate Agents

Throughout the whole buying process Shepherds keep me informed, from start to finish. Everyone who I had dealings with in the Hertford office spoke to me as if they knew me and had met me face-to-face and that gave me the impression that they took time to get to know their client as best they could. The whole process was handled with confidence and that put me at ease.

Shepherds Estate Agents

Shepherds were very helpful and easy to contact, and they worked hard to get our long and difficult chain complete - Thank you!

Shepherds Estate Agents

A nice estate agent to deal with. Heading towards completion we got a lot of communication and update from them. Only downside was when we viewed the property, the agent who showed us around was obviously a contractor so she had no knowledge of any property details when we asked questions and she was also rushing us around, and literally ran off as soon as she locked the door to go to another viewing. It would be better if the agent used their permanent staff and if they held an info sheet on each property which has answers to the most common questions (E. G. is the loft boarded, is there a power supply to shed etc).

Shepherds Estate Agents

I’m so happy with the sale of the house. The agent was quick and efficient. Recommend 100%

Shepherds Estate Agents

David, we want to send our thanks for the assistance and communication that you and your colleagues have provided during this purchase. It's made the process very smooth from our perspective and you've given a good impression of Shepherds as a company.

Shepherds Estate Agents

Shepherds were great throughout the whole process of selling our house. We could always get hold of somebody when we needed to, and as they're a small close-knit team they always knew what was going on with our sale - definitely no bouncing around different agents every time you ring! Thoroughly excellent, friendly, professional service all round, and the staff were extremely helpful with extra requests - verifying ID, witnessing documents etc. Would absolutely recommend to anybody.

Shepherds Estate Agents

I can not thank everyone enough at Shepherds Hertford with extra Thanks going to Roz and George that help push through the sale and making a very difficult time so much easier. They were always on the phone when I needed to speak to them and couldn't have been more helpful. nThank you so much for all your help, I would 100% recommend and use Shepherds again.

Shepherds Estate Agents

The staff at Shepherds worked as an excellent team at all stages in, what turned out to be, a long sale period as we sorted out aspects of selling a house for someone who had passed away. I was impressed with the efficiency of the staff at Shepherds and they made every effort to keep me informed as to the progress of the sale and their exchanges with legal teams and the buyers.

Shepherds Estate Agents

Excellent service from start to finish. Always on hand when needed. Would highly recommend.

Shepherds Estate Agents

Very good service throughout the sale. David was very helpful and kept in touch frequently when we were looking for a buyer, and we had very quick responses to our queries during the whole sale process. I was always able to speak to a member of the team when I needed to. I would definitely recommend the service provided.

Shepherds Estate Agents

5 stars to all above.

Shepherds Estate Agents

For various personal reasons we messed Shepherds about quite considerably at first but at no point did they treat us any differently, they were always polite and worked hard to get the job done. We did have a slight mishap due to an error by a new member of staff which was less than ideal but I think that was unfortunate and a result of the pressure they were under because of how the housing market has boomed.

Shepherds Estate Agents

We had an excellent purchase process from Shepherds as first time buyers. The staff were proactive and supportive and we had no issues at all. Thanks again for your help.

Shepherds Estate Agents

Your management of our house sale through to completion was done by kindly staff keeping us regularly informed. nShould we ever contemplate another house move, we would have no hesitation in appointing Shepherds Estate Agents as our first choice. Thankyou.

Shepherds Estate Agents

Very good service, helpful and professional staff. A pleasure to deal with
