Well, what can we say?
It seems a little strange to be talking all about us, when really and truly, our business is all about you: your home, your move and your experience. But to give you some background: Shepherd’s first opened in Hertford on February 14th 1976 – Valentine’s Day. At the time, the average sale price in Hertford was about £14,000; a pint of beer was 32p; and everything we did was hand written or typed.
While today’s house prices are unrecognisable and technology has transformed the way property is marketed – let’s not even discuss the cost of a pint! – the fundamental principles of exceptional customer service and doing right by everyone remain as strong today as the day we opened. Possibly why we’ve been here so long. Shepherds has been a thoroughly modern and thoroughly local estate agent for every day of its considerable lifetime. We’ve consistently sought out new technologies and always remained open to change, with a team of people who live in – and love – the neighbourhood.
