Good Afternoon

Well, what can we say?
It seems a little strange to be talking all about us, when really and truly, our business is all about you: your home, your move and your experience. But to give you some background: Shepherd’s first opened in Hertford on February 14th 1976 – Valentine’s Day. At the time, the average sale price in Hertford was about £14,000; a pint of beer was 32p; and everything we did was hand written or typed …and when the existence of private landlords was still a rarity.

While today’s house prices are unrecognisable and technology has transformed the way property is marketed – let’s not even discuss the cost of a pint! – the fundamental principles of exceptional customer service and doing right by everyone remain as strong today as the day we opened. Possibly why we’ve been here so long. Shepherds has been a thoroughly modern and thoroughly local estate agent for every day of its considerable lifetime. We’ve consistently sought out new technologies and always remained open to change, with a team of people who live in – and love – the neighbourhood.

Most of all, Shepherds is built on a simple and timeless formula: helpful local people, helping local people move.

Make the most of your weekend with Shepherds of Hertford

The weekend is when most people are off work and available to look at property, and when Hertford’s town centre is busiest. So it’s essential to open on Saturday and Sunday to seize and capitalise on potential opportunities. Weekends are perfect for Open Days and to arrange multiple viewings in straight succession to generate maximum enthusiasm and commitment from buyers. Sundays provide an extra opportunity to keep the momentum from any Saturday activity, instead of waiting until Monday.

Shepherds Estate Agents

We stupidly started our sale of Hertford property not with Shepherds and regretted it. We wasted time and money not working with experts in the area and grown up professionals. nWe consequently had an occasionally frustrating conveyancing period and yet they made us feel like they had our back all the way through and would intervene or give things a push where possible. Roz is an expert and empathetic communicator and negotiator. Peter was saintly with the rest of the team in keeping an eye on our empty property, taking meter readings when needed and generally making life away from the area of sale a lot less stressful. They are the best.

Shepherds Estate Agents

Our house search took a long time and a bumpy road to get there, but we finally found it through Shepherds. David's support before this was incredible, always giving time for support and advice. The team's guidance through the purchase was great and we would recommend using Shepherds for your house move.

Shepherds Estate Agents

Efficient, friendly service.

Shepherds Estate Agents

Dear All, thank you very much from myself and Stuart for completing this sale for us. Thanks David for being so positive about the property and helping achieve the price you did. Jayne

Shepherds Estate Agents

The staff are all very kind and helpful, always making time for any last minute requests

Shepherds Estate Agents

The team at Shepherds were professional, helpful and friendly. The sale is the first part of the transaction but they were calming and very helpful as the sale progressed. A big thank you to the team at Shepherds.

Shepherds Estate Agents

The Team have been fantastic, right from the valuation, managing what proved to be a very successful Open Day, negotiating a final bid and of course negotiating through to a completed sale. A special thanks to Roz in seeing this over the line, she has been fantastic.

Shepherds Estate Agents

It's been an absolute pleasure to deal with the entire team at Shepherds, I have used them on several occasions over the last few years and have nothing but praise positive things to say regarding the services they provide.

Shepherds Estate Agents

A very impressive service from Shepherds. A couple of days after we appointed Shepherds to sell our property they found us a buyer. The service provided thereafter was professional throughout resulting in a relatively quick, stress free sale.

Shepherds Estate Agents

We cannot recommend Shepherds more highly. We sold and purchased our new propery with them. They were very helpful and gave first class advice. With their help we were able to achieve our desired outcome and now have the home that we wanted.

Shepherds Estate Agents

We purchased a property through Shepherds and found the team to be really professional, efficient and approachable. They were really on the ball and chased everything through from start to finish - even helped advise us through some 'unchartered territory' regarding some unusual findings regarding the title / land access. Special thanks to David and Roz who were super helpful and always responded to our calls/emails quickly and efficiently. Compared to other agents in North London, Shepherds were fantastic. Thanks very much Shepherds. If we ever sell, we'll know who to use!

Shepherds Estate Agents

Shepherds marketed and sold our Mum’s property in Hertford. They have been helpful, supportive and have kept us well informed at all stages. I would definitely recommend using them.

Shepherds Estate Agents

Thanks to all the Team for your help and support over the past year or so, both on the rental side (Jodie/Steve) and sales side (Roz/Paula/Peter/Sam/David/Matt) in respect of 42b. nWell done on managing/negotiating the various hurdles along the way. n…all done successfully without fuss.

Shepherds Estate Agents

David and his team where very diligent, professional and accommodating during the purchase of our property. I would be more than happy to recommend their services to anybody who asked.

Shepherds Estate Agents

We sold our house in Hertford with Shepherds and they provided an excellent service. They always kept us informed and up to date. We found them to be very open, honest and gave us astute advice during a drawn out sale and purchase. They are all very knowledgeable and friendly. On the occasion that we viewed properties being sold by Shepherds again we found them to be excellent.
