Good Morning

Well, what can we say?
It seems a little strange to be talking all about us, when really and truly, our business is all about you: your home, your move and your experience. But to give you some background: Shepherd’s first opened in Hertford on February 14th 1976 – Valentine’s Day. At the time, the average sale price in Hertford was about £14,000; a pint of beer was 32p; and everything we did was hand written or typed …and when the existence of private landlords was still a rarity.

While today’s house prices are unrecognisable and technology has transformed the way property is marketed – let’s not even discuss the cost of a pint! – the fundamental principles of exceptional customer service and doing right by everyone remain as strong today as the day we opened. Possibly why we’ve been here so long. Shepherds has been a thoroughly modern and thoroughly local estate agent for every day of its considerable lifetime. We’ve consistently sought out new technologies and always remained open to change, with a team of people who live in – and love – the neighbourhood.

Most of all, Shepherds is built on a simple and timeless formula: helpful local people, helping local people move.

LIVING IN HERTFORD

BUSY TOWN CENTRE PREMISES OPEN SEVEN DAYS A WEEK

Make the most of your weekend with Shepherds of Hertford

The weekend is when most people are off work and available to look at property, and when Hertford’s town centre is busiest. So it’s essential to open on Saturday and Sunday to seize and capitalise on potential opportunities. Weekends are perfect for Open Days and to arrange multiple viewings in straight succession to generate maximum enthusiasm and commitment from buyers. Sundays provide an extra opportunity to keep up momentum from any Saturday activity, instead of waiting till Monday.

Shepherds Estate Agents

David, many thanks to you, Roz and your other colleagues for everything you’ve done. Your service and attitude have been really exemplary every step of the way.

Shepherds Estate Agents

David and the team are always so approachable and trustworthy. I never felt pressurised by them and equally when I needed an answer from my vendor, they bent over backwards to find out. Thanks for making the purchase as easy as possible under coronavirus lockdown circumstances!

Shepherds Estate Agents

David, Roz and all the team at Shepherds are friendly and extremely helpful. They were always available when I needed them and very supportive when I was buying my first property. I would highly recommend, thank you,

Shepherds Estate Agents

David, I am writing to you and the team at Shepherds to thank you for selling Trinity Court for me successfully during a very difficult period with Brexit looming and then the Covid 19 lockdown. Although the sale turned out to be a lengthy process, through circumstances beyond our control, I always felt that you were actively working in my interests. I did not feel that I was at a disadvantage being so far away, or that I was being a nuisance when I telephoned to ask about something. nI was very aware that the sale was a team effort. I was impressed by the communication between the staff; messages always got through. As you know I was anxious about the flat being empty throughout the winter and I am grateful for the visits that were made. Thank you too for making meter readings etc. Thank you to Peter for his lovely photographs and for taking a couple of extra ones when I thought that another aspect of the flat should be shown. nI think you all gave me a thoroughly professional, efficient yet caring service. Thank you. n

Shepherds Estate Agents

Me and my partner would highly recommend using Shepherds of Hertford. nThey were very helpful and on the ball with quick replies to enquiries and such when we were purchasing our first property.

Shepherds Estate Agents

Roz, thanks so much for all your and David's hard work. We really appreciate how accessible, responsive and honest you have both been throughout the whole process. Having dealt with different estate agents through the search for a new property, we really have noticed a difference and feel very lucky to have had yourselves working with us. We actually feel a bit disappointed that you don't cover our new area to help us with any future moves we might make!

Shepherds Estate Agents

Thoroughly recommend

David, Peter and all the team were great. All helping to make the process as stress free as possible. nIf you are looking for both a professional & friendly team to buy or sell a property - look no further!

Shepherds Estate Agents

Recently sold a house with Shepherds, this was not your average house sale due to the circumstances between my ex husband and myself. I can honestly say that it was handled remarkably by all involved at Shepherds the care and consideration shown was such a help in difficult circumstances. Every question was replied to quickly and I was really pleased with the marketing and the aftercare. I would highly recommend Shepherds.
